How do the representations in the music videos chosen by the producers promote the artist? - Most of the dancers in the video are black, which is representing black culture and black people which isn't usually represented so much. - there are still 1 or 2 white people so they are still represented, but Normani was probably trying to show black people more into the video - Normani is wearing very revealing clothes in many of the shots, and the style of dance can be seen to be sexualised in some shots. Music video reflection - No Roots - Shreya Sperryn What have you learned?/What Went Well? - I have learned how to vary location - how to manage shot duration - how to create ambient lighting to add to mise-en-scene - my shots showed on the beats/in time with the music - good association of shots to the lyrics - the repetition of shots on the guitar riff was successful Have you encountered any problems? If so, how did you solve them? 1. having to edit lip syncing to fit the music (I had to slow-mo some of the lip syncing to fit better but not all of it could be put in time to the music 2. music wasn't downloading to iMovie for a very long time, until I sorted it on a home laptop - focusing the camera for the first few shots of lip syncing - so I had to put a filter on the first few shots to increase the definition 3. match on action shots for lip syncing looked slightly inconsistent because my three actors lip syncing were different heights ...
